If I could ask the Lord for one gift it would be the ability to write well. Its not something that comes easily to me and for that reason I procrastinate when I have to put something down on paper…its one of my many faults. I look at what some of my friends write ie Morag Roy and my brother in law Geoff Taylor and I am so jealous. It just seems to come naturally to them. But not for me!!!!
But I can talk…I’m really good at that. I can talk to anyone anywhere, My daughters can attest to that. I can hear them shouting at me as I leave them in the car and go into the shop….”Mum please don’t talk to every person you see.” Thing is, I like talking to people!!
And I want to talk to friends and family around the world who continue to faithfully support us even though I am constantly silent. So I am going to try this blogging thing and encourage anyone reading this to keep me accountable. A gentle reminder to update the blog will be all I need to get myself into gear again.
Anyway happy new year everyone. And let’s hope it will be a happy year for us all. Last year was a tough one at the centre. We dealt with a lot of difficult, tragic cases that almost broke us. But we are still standing, only by God’s grace though. He upheld us through many difficult times. He’s good like that isn’t He? Always there, always constant and always loving us.
When a new year starts one always thinks of new year’s resolutions. That’s another thing I’m not good at..keeping news year’s resolutions. However I am always interested in what others have set for themselves. So this year I have asked some of our kids what their new year’s resolutions are. Here are some of their answers:-
- Listen to my teacher
- Get good grades
- Spend more time with God (Don’t we all want that one)
- Stop taking other people’s things (Sure hope that is one resolution she is successful in)
- I would like to see the school lunch menu changed!!!!
- I want to talk to my Mother
- I want to learn to be more grateful
- I want to stop sucking my fingers (I want you to as well)
- I want to stop being rude and disrespectful
- I want to change my attitude
And finally let me share Blessing’s resolution..”I want to live my life knowing that I can’t go back and change the beginning but I can start where I am and change the ending,” Wise words from a 16 year old.
Happy New Year dear friends and thank you for your constant support, love and prayers.
From all at SJC.
